The materials used are as varied as the types of embroidery, as are the huge variety of stitches that can be used to achieve a desired effect.

Part of CGNA's mandate is to help its members learn about the different forms of stitchery by providing teachers, library resources, access to correspondence courses and lots of information about their particular interests.
