The Cataraqui Guild of Needle Arts organizes one or two-day workshops twice a year.

In September 2007, Jan Beaney and Jean Littlejohn, business name Double Trouble, who are internationally known authors and embroiderers from England were here to show members their interpretations of Creative Surface Design and Stitch on fabric.   Check out their website at www.doubletrouble-ent.com for more information about them.

2008-09 (year 7)

November 8th and 9th, 2008, Pat Caffrey of Ottawa will be doing a workshop (canvas work) “Poppy” at the Odessa Agricultural Hall.

 

Wednesday November 26th, 2008

A bus trip to the Museum of Civilization in Ottawa to see Quebec folk art and embroidery, plus the aboriginal art exhibit (or whatever interests you); also a side trip to Bank Street to the embroidery store and two bead stores.

Apr 26- May 3, 2019 Gananoque Writers Festival - The display of CGNA whitework at the Writers' Festival in Gananoque was a great success. There were lots of compliments from the attendees and the author (Jennifer Robson: The Gown, A Novel of the Royal Wedding) as well. The display was there for a week beyond the Writers Festival so got viewed by others as well.

June 24: Bus Trip June 24—Katherine R organized a trip to Almonte Museum and Perth Museum and visits to stores along the way. It was full.

June 22: Lansdowne Textile Fair June 22, 10:00 to 3:00 - display of work by those helping out, including Bobblin Lace. Bobbin Lace ladies won "Viewers' Choice Best Demonstrators"

June 17: Pot Luck Luncheon June 17—Jo Gatenby from X’s & Oh’s was our speaker. She had some merchandise for sale.
